What is document legalisation?
Legalization of documents is the authentication of the authenticity and truthfulness of the document, by means of prior certification by state administrations and an apostille, which, depending on the document, is affixed by the National Censor for Information and Documentation,
the Ministry of Justice or the Directorate of Consular Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An Apostille is a certificate with a stamp/seal certifying (legalising) a document by the country in which it was issued. Documents bearing an apostille are exempt from any further form of legalisation in countries that are members of the 1961 Hague Convention.
Legalisation is required for documents that are to be served before a particular foreign state.
